THE BUZZ: We love Warner Bros.' commitment to Andy and Lana Wachowski; it's been a decade since they've made a profitable movie, and yet the studio doesn't flinch at releasing their bonkers sci-fi ideas (we imagine WB doesn't have a major financial stake here). It's a risk for Channing Tatum, who fortunately has 22 Jump Street (2014) coming out beforehand.

THE BUZZ: Bryan Mills's story comes to an end with the third and final Taken, the action trilogy that helped legitimize the month of January on the movie-release calendar. Liam Neeson should enjoy several more years of similar roles, and franchise creator Luc Besson will remain busy in Europe and the U.S. now that Lucy has studios looking at him like a worldwide attraction. Maybe someday there can be a successful action series that doesn't so openly disparage Arabs and eastern Europeans, too.

THE BUZZ: One great thing this Woman in Black prequel has going for it is Tom Harper, who directed some of the first season of "Peaky Blinders", and I've been reading about emerging writer Jon Croker as well, who also scripted the upcoming Desert Dancer. A second WiB was inevitable, and going back into the history of Eel Marsh House seems more honorable than trying to bring the story into a contemporary era. We'll miss Daniel Radcliffe's lawyer but credit the original film with helping the young star begin to loose himself from Harry Potter.
